We are an egalitarian Conservative synagogue with a
multi-generational membership. Our small size and our “participatory
congregation” make our shul feel like a second family.
Beth Emeth was founded in 1958 by members wanting to
get away from the economics and politics of the high-pressure fundraising
efforts that often take over at larger synagogues. This group wanted a more
intimate experience focused on the joys and fulfillment of practicing
Judaism. In 2009, we entered into an arrangement with Congregation Sulam
Yaakov, whereby we participate in services conducted by Congregaion Sulam
Yaakov in our location in Larchmont.
Today, we are a shul where everybody knows each other, where
children become bar or bat mitzvah without having to share a torah reading,
where anybody can participate in Shabbat services.
Newcomers of all ages are always welcome at our
Saturday morning Shabbat services (they start at 9:30am) and followed by
kiddush. Join us, meet our members, chat with us and our rabbi … we'd
love to have you!
We extend our hands in welcome and say, “B'ruchim ha-ba'im!” (Blessed
are those who come!)
