If you are reading this letter on our website you may be interested in finding a new synagogue for yourself, your family, or your children and grandchildren. Finding the “right” synagogue these days can be difficult. Jewish families today do not look like Jewish families from fifty years ago and at Beth Emeth Synagogue we realize this fact. Today there are blended families, single parent families, same sex families and interfaith families. Actually any of these families can be interfaith families or families made up of Jews by Choice. All of you are welcome at Beth Emeth Synagogue to join us for our Shabbat and Holiday services. Our doors are open and I would like to welcome you to enter into a conversation with me, Rabbi Arye Berk, about Judaism, family, God or any or all of the above.
Beth Emeth Synagogue is a conservative synagogue that is attempting to provide meaningful services to our congregants in a warm and non-threatening environment. Has it been a while since you read Hebrew? No problem: we have transliterated prayer books that will help you find your way through the service. Do you wrestle with Torah? I encourage questions from the community because questions unasked lead to answers never given.
CLICK HERE to open a copy of our interfaith brochure online. It is our first attempt at publicizing to the community that we understand the needs of our community. At one time rabbis could only say “No”; today I offer you the chance to dialogue with me about issues for interfaith families. I hope we will both learn from the discussion and you may be surprised to hear the answer is “Yes.”
I hope to hear from you soon.
B’shalom,
Rabbi Arye Berk |
